AIBO EXPLORER ERF-220AW02
NO LONGER AVAILABLE

This brand new AIBO-ware has been written to maximise the features and character of the ERS-220A. Because you will want to show off this futuristic robot as soon as you get it, this AIBO-ware has been written so that your AIBO will be a fully mature robot the first time you switch it on. AIBO Explorer can even be used in the ERS-210A, so that you can show your robotic pet off to your friends, although some of the features will not be as enjoyable as they are when they are performed by the ERS-220A.
If the main robotic unit is AIBO’s body, then the AIBO-ware is AIBO’s mind. Each time you play with AIBO it will learn from that session, and at the end it will save everything it has learned back to its Memory Stick, so that it is ready to continue from where you left off the next time you switch it on. As all the information is saved on the Memory Stick you can even use another application on another Memory Stick and then simply reinsert you AIBO Explorer Memory Stick to return to your futuristic companion.
Exploring and Instincts
This AIBO-ware will transform your AIBO into a fully mature robot that has a particularly strong instinct to search and explore the environment around it. As it explores AIBO is very active, its movements and sounds being very robotic in nature.
Your AIBO Entertainment Robot is constantly reacting to and learning from the environment around it. Depending on how you are fulfilling its instincts for food, sleep, movement, search and love will decide which emotion it is feeling, be it happiness, sadness, anger, fear, discontent or surprise. AIBO will express its emotions using a combination of its expressive face and tail lights, tones and body language. If communication with you or another AIBO goes well, then it may become excited and enter Boost Mode. With this mode its headlight will be raised and illuminated and its movements will become very energetic and will want to show off. However, as your AIBO Entertainment Robot tires it will revert to autonomous mode, becoming withdrawn until it has recovered enough energy to resume normal behaviour.
With this autonomous AIBO-ware being run on your futuristic ERS-220A, it is sure to leave you wondering where Artificial Intelligence is going to go next and glad that you own the most advance commercially available Entertainment Robot!!

FEATURES OF AIBO EXPLORER
AIBO Explorer has numerous features, we have listed just a few of the best:
Voice Commands
AIBO can now understand 75 voice commands. These range from old favourites such as ‘Say Hello’ and ‘Karate Chop’ to the new Sound and Surveillance functionality commands such as ‘Guard the House’.
Taking Pictures
This function gives you an opportunity to view the world as your AIBO sees it. On hearing the voice command ‘Take a Picture’ your AIBO Entertainment Robot will begin a countdown and then take a digital snapshot in jpeg format, which it will then save back to its Memory Stick. This picture can then be viewed using a P.C. equipped with a Memory Stick reader*. The AIBO Explorer Memory Stick can save up to 7 jpegs.
Giving AIBO a Name
Your AIBO Entertainment Robot is designed to be a companion for you, and as such you will want to give it a name. Using the ‘Name Registration’ command you will be able to teach your AIBO a name of your choice, which it will then respond to when you call it.
If you ask, “What’s your name?” AIBO will tell you its name in its own language called tonal language.
Learning your Name
In the same way as AIBO learns its own name, AIBO can now also learn its owner’s name ! Using the ‘Owner Registration’ command AIBO can learn its owner’s name, and will call it when it wants some attention, using its own tonal language.
Surveillance Mode
When you leave the house or a room, AIBO Entertainment Robot can be left in surveillance mode on its charging station. As you leave it give the command ‘Guard the house’. AIBO will go into sleep mode, from which it will awaken every 30 minutes and will look around it. If it detects anything moving it will take a picture* that it will save to its Memory Stick, and then return to sleep mode for another 30 minutes. When you return home you can then ask your AIBO Entertainment Robot ‘What happened?’ and it will let you know whether it took a picture or not.
PLEASE NOTE: This feature is not designed for security purposes
* A maximum of 3 pictures can be taken in this mode.
Communication between AIBOs
When your AIBO Entertainment Robot meets another* you can tell it to ‘Talk to your Friend’. The robots will start to chat to each and may be asking ‘What is your name?’ or ‘How is it going?’ in AIBO tonal language.
* Both AIBOs must be ERS-210A or ERS-220A and be running AIBO Life 2 or AIBO Explorer AIBO-ware.
Boost Mode
This is a hyperactive mode that your AIBO Entertainment Robot will enter when it believes that its contact with you or another 200-Series Robot is going well and it is feeling happy. It will slowly warm up into this mode, its leadlight appearing, and it will start to perform energetic motions. It will then make a roulette sound during which you can choose whether you want it to show off its Mechanical, Sonic or Exploring capabilities. As the mode wears off your AIBO Entertainment Robot will become tired.

AIBO MASTER STUDIO Version 1.1 ERF-PC03
NO LONGER AVAILABLE

This exciting application makes it easy for anyone who is comfortable using a computer to start creating their own applications for their AIBO Entertainment Robot. It will allow you to create applications for your ERS-210A, ERS-220A or the LM Series. Simply select your AIBO at the start of this Graphical User Interface (GUI) application, and all the screens will show the details relevant to your robot.
Action Composer
For your AIBO Entertainment Robot, an action can be described as a combination of a Motion file, a Sound file and/or an LED file that both starts and ends with AIBO in a sitting, standing or lying position.
The package will allow you to create or adapt movement, sound and LED files, and using the main Action Composer window you can then synchronise these files together to give an expressive action. When you are satisfied, you can then play back these actions on the Preview Pane, allowing you to check your work before transferring it to AIBO.
Behaviour Arranger
This tool allows you to program how AIBO will respond to the environment around it. The program is built up as a flowchart, boxes being linked together to describe each stage of the program. There are a selection of boxes to choose from such as action boxes, branch boxes and group boxes.
Action boxes allow you to choose from a list of built-in actions, or you can mix these with an imported library of custom actions you have created in Action Composer.
Branch boxes allow you to set conditional logic so that AIBO can follow different paths in the program depending on the environment around it. The inputs from the environment can be from your Entertainment Robot’s touch sensors, its distance away from obstacles detected by its infra-red distance sensor and objects it recognises using its colour camera. With this new version of Master Studio, you can now even program AIBO to respond to one of over 50 pre-set voice commands.
Group boxes allow you to include programs that you have previously written as subroutines, so that you do not need to rewrite subroutines that you use frequently, making programs easier to read and write.
Quick Behaviour Arranger
New to this version of AIBO Master Studio is the addition of Wizards to make creating your applications even quicker and easier than before. Use this part of the application to create standard routines that you can then either use as they are, or go into Behaviour Arranger to add further detail.
Transferring Information to AIBO
For the LM Series the only way to transfer the information to your AIBO is to write it to the Memory Stick, therefore you will need some way of writing information to it from the P.C., for example a built-in Memory Stick slot or an external Memory Stick Adaptor.
For the 200-Series there are two options available when using Master Studio: these are the same method as for the LM Series, or alternatively a Wireless LAN environment can be used to write the information directly to the Memory Stick without the need to pause AIBO and transfer the Memory Stick backwards and forwards (AIBO Wireless LAN Card is sold separately, and a Wireless LAN environment for your PC is required: please see detail section of AIBO Wireless LAN Card for further information).
You will find that using the wireless transfer of information from your P.C. to your 200-Series AIBO will allow you to test programs and actions whilst creating them, thus increasing your work efficiency.

AIBO RECOGNITION ERF-0210AW06E
NO LONGER AVAILABLE
For ERS-210 and ERS-210A

IBO Recognition is an AIBO-ware ‘Memory Stick’ that instantly lets you interact with a fully mature robot. The highlight of this new AIBO-ware is that AIBO is now capable of Self-Recharging. AIBO will know on its own when its battery needs to be charged. AIBO will then locate its Energy Station and walk over to it to recharge itself. This action can be triggered by a voice command as well. When AIBO is charged and ready for action, it will walk off the Energy Station by itself, and resume its autonomous nature.
In addition, this new AIBO-ware has Owner Recognition. AIBO is now capable of distinguishing its owner’s face and voice from other people. After registering your face and voice, AIBO will be able to recognize you as its owner. For example, if you are playing with AIBO with a group of friends, AIBO will know that you have told it to sit down versus a command from someone else. Furthermore, if you call out AIBO’s name, it will look up at you affectionately and be delighted.
AIBO-ware enhances the AIBO entertainment experience by allowing communication with AIBO through touch sensors and voice commands. Through interaction, AIBO will become your unique companion. AIBO also has the capability to take and store up to 20 digital photographs with its CMOS camera. Download the stored .jpg images from the ‘Memory Stick’ to see what AIBO sees
