YETI is a walking robot developed for educational purposes and for the hobby user.
It is suitable as an introduction into processor-controlled hobby electronics and mechanics, for projects and studies in schools, universities and adult education centres.
The ATMEGA8 Microcontroller used to control YETI is completely programmable in C with freeware and open-source tools. The development is simplified by a well documented software library.
YETI can carry several expansion modules.You can directly connect two expansion modules with a flat cable - one inside YETI's head and one on top of it.
Beneath other signals, the I2C-Bus is available on this flat cable and it can be used to add several additional sensors and modules.
The Robot also features an IR-Interface for programming and remote controlling by a PC, a beeper that can play sounds and two LEDs that function as it's "eyes". The two Legs are controlled by two servo motors.

There are some additional parts available for the YETI, in addition to the RS232 IR transceiver included in the kit, allowing the PC software to communicate with the AVR microcontroller.

USB IR TRANSCEIVER, designed to support modern PCs without serial ports.
ULTRASONIC RANGER, allowing YETI to detect obstacles and measure the distance to them
EXPERIMENT SET, containing printed circuit board, flat cable set and PCB connector,
LED DISPLAY KIT, The Display Kit can be assembled on the included Expansion board completely by yourself. It is a 4 digit Display with I2C Bus. For example you can display operating states or measured distances of the Ultrasonic Ranger with it!

HEXBUG MICRO ROBOTS

These new and exciting creepy crawly micro-robots are packed full of high tech sound and object sensors which enable them to dodge obstacles and run away from loud noises. All of this is possible because of a tiny microprocessor that allows the Hexbug to process signals from their antennae and an inbuilt microphone. As they scurry along, if you slap the table in front of them, or clap your hands, they'll stop, back up and a zip off in another direction.

* A creepy crawly robot that will detect and react to obstacles and loud noises.
* When the robots' "feelers" come into contact with an obstacle it takes steps to avoid it (quite literally).
* When confronted with a loud noise (like a handclap) the inbuilt microphone will make the Hexbug change direction.

The NEW Hexbug Crab can do everything that the original can, with the added bonus of a light sensor. For some reason the crab just can't stand the light, so it'll scuttle away to hide in a dark corner when provoked.

Like its cousins the Original Hexbug and the Hexbug Crab, the Inchworm is an amazing insectoid robot, but this time you can take full control via a two-channel infra-red remote control system.

If remote control cars are a bit too run of the mill for you, the Inchworm offers seven way steering and an unique crawling action as well as an amazing futuristic and fantastic design that’s really different and original!

It’s a really fun challenge to learn how to take control of the way an insect walks and to get to grips with getting about on six legs!

Different frequency settings mean that two Inchworms can even race each other or do battle!
