NEW ROBOT !!
YETI
YETI is a walking
robot developed for educational purposes and for the hobby user.
It is suitable as an introduction into processor-controlled hobby
electronics and mechanics, for projects and studies in schools,
universities and adult education centres.
The ATMEGA8 Microcontroller used to control YETI is completely
programmable in C with freeware and open-source tools. The development
is simplified by a well documented software library.
YETI can carry several expansion modules.You can directly connect
two expansion modules with a flat cable - one inside YETI's head
and one on top of it.
Beneath other signals, the I2C-Bus is available on this flat
cable and it can be used to add several additional sensors and modules.
The Robot also features an IR-Interface for programming and remote
controlling by a PC, a beeper that can play sounds and two LEDs
that function as it's "eyes". The two Legs are controlled
by two servo motors.
There
are some additional parts available for the YETI, in addition to
the RS232 IR transceiver included in the kit, allowing the PC software
to communicate with the AVR microcontroller.
These currently comprise:
USB IR TRANSCEIVER, designed to support modern PCs without
serial ports.
ULTRASONIC RANGER, allowing YETI to detect obstacles and
measure the distance to them
EXPERIMENT SET, containing printed circuit board, flat cable
set and PCB connector,
LED DISPLAY KIT, The Display Kit can be assembled on the
included Expansion board completely by yourself. It is a 4 digit
Display with I2C Bus. For example you can display operating states
or measured distances of the Ultrasonic Ranger with it!

Hyper
Line Tracer
The trunk like structure on the front of this robot contains a light
source and two light sensors from which it receives signals which
vary acording to the reflectance of the surface over which they are
passing. Thus this robot can tell a white cloth from a black line
and when it finds a line it will follow it. This principle is used
in,among others, sheet metal profile cutting tools. This kit is more
involved to build than those above having two motors and gear boxes,

Avoider
As its name implies this robot can avoid obstacles in its path while
urgently walking around the floor. Its six legs are driven in two
sets of 3, each with its own motor, which allows it to turn away from
obstructions. Avoider is equally at home on a hard surface or a carpeted
floor and wil even cross small gaps between surfaces. The advantages
of even simple legs over wheels is well illustrated by this machine.
