OUR
ROBOT KIT RANGES
One of the most
impressive aspects of a robot is how even the simplest control circuit
and equally simple mode of movement can produce a viable behaviour
which can almost look like a form of intelligence
All the mobile robot kits presented here are well made and both
instructive and interesting to build. Once built they can give much
enjoyment on their own or in conjunction with others of their own
kind or of different "species" in the range.
New to our range of robots are the mighty but miniscule ASURO,
developed for educational purposes by the aerospace industry, and
the modular tracked, autonomous ROBBIE.
The Elekit range of robots is well established as good quality
introductory robots sold world wide
As an aid to construction of the Elekit robots we have provided
a series of photographs at each stage of assembly - to see these

NEW ROBOT !!
ASURO
ASURO is a superb,
tiny mobile robot developed for educational purposes by the German
aerospace centre. It is very flexible and completely programmable
in C. Assembly is easy for experienced electronic technicians and
feasible for a novice.
Except for the printed circuit boards (PCB) only standard parts
are utilized and freeware tools can be used for programming. Therefore
ASURO is exceptionally suitable as an introduction into processor-controlled
hobby electronics, for projects in schools and universities, for
studies and adult education centres. Special tools, which are freeware
for private users, have been used for all electronic development
phases and software design, proving that robots can be designed
without expensive tools or machines.
ASURO
is equipped with an Atmel AVR RISC-processor and two independently
controlled motors, an optical linetracer, six collision-detector
switches, two odometer-sensors, three indicator LEDs and a serial
IR-Interface for programming and remote controlling by a PC.
There are some additional parts available for the ASURO, in addition
to the RS232 IR transceiver included in the kit, allowing the PC
software to communicate with the AVR microcontroller.
These currently comprise:
USB IR TRANSCEIVER, designed to support modern PCs without
serial ports.
EXPERIMENT KIT, including 2 extension boards, pins, sockets,
etc for easy addition of your own circuits.
LCD PANEL - coming soon.

NEW ROBOT!!
ROBBIE
Robbie is a mobile autonomous robot system, equipped with a powerful
C-Control micro-controller, a huge number of sensors and mounted on
caterpillar tracks.
The user can very easily write custom programs for Robbie and create
any desired behaviour - for example, avoiding obstacles, following
light sources or moving when a sound is detected, and moving a specific
distance after receiving a command from an IR remote control etc
Additionally the robot can be used as a base system for your own developments,
having connectors for stackable expansion boards.

ROBBIE
TRACKED CHASSIS
Robbie's tracked base is available as a separate, stand alone
unit, which can be used as a base for any robotic project. The chassis
is constructed from 2 symmetrical trays, which contain the motors
and the spur gears. Wheel axles and drive shafts are supported in
sintered bearings. The drives are industrial grade motors, featuring
high lifetime and an excellent efficiency, ensring long operating
periods with fully charged batteries. The rubber tracks are each driven
by two 44mm diameter wheels. Due to the well designed drive, the chassis
is capable of passing over small obstacles as well as steep gradients.
The middle of the chassis contains a battery holder for 6 AA-sized
batteries. The 2 independently controlled electric motors ensure good
chassis mobility as the speed and direction of each track is freely
controllable.
