This section
consists of a series of articles and links with the aim of helping
towards an understanding of what robotics is today and to explain
some of the specialised language and jargon used in the general
field of robotics.
In many cases there are lessons to be learned from the biological
world which has been developing its "Robotic Designs"
for a few years now. We will therefore explain various mechanisms
which are paralleled in nature or point out where nature may supply
a source of inspiration for your own robotic developments
Today the
National Curriculum includes "Technical Studies" much
of which covers the subjects and knowledge needed to start building
and understanding Robots.
That means that every Tech Studies Pupil can build their own simple
or complex robot, having fun and adding to the knowledge needed
for their National Examinations.
