SURFBOARDS

Build surface mount circuits with basic tools. You can build hundreds of useful surface mount based circuit boards with nothing more than a fine point soldering iron, some small diameter solder, a craft knife and SURFBOARDS
.
Since most surfboards come with with standard pin centres, your circuits with be compatible with both conventional and solderless breadboards. Most surfboard models have been designed with universal circuit patterns that will allow you to mount a wide range of device types and sizes, and with simple modifications you can even further expand your component mounting operations.

The 9000 series Surfboards provides an "off the shelf" means to build prototype and short run circuits. Several models feature Single-In-Line (SIP) pins on .1 in. centres making them compatible with solderless breadboards, conventional breadboards, and sockets. Many models feature large land and pad foils which can be further modified to re-configure boards to accept additional components or change board level interconnect arrangement.

Type 9081
Use the Model 9081 to build a variety of simple circuits and Sub-Assemblies with the popular 8 Pin S.O.I.C. Package. Peripheral pad and land areas accept 1206, Mini-Melf, A-case Tantalums, and other components. Glue or attach board to ground plane or larger board for enhanced R.F. characteristics

The 9081 accepts industry standard Small Outline I.C.s

Type 9082
The 9082 accepts an 8 Pin S.O.I.C. and in line 0805, 1206, Mini-Melf, and other components may be mounted, or a jumper may be used if a direct connection is desired. A pad set is provided between I.C. pins 4 and 8 if a bypass capacitor is desired in cases where the I.C. uses these pins as power and ground. Board accepts industry standard 8-pin S.O.I.C.

Type 9161
The model 9161 provides peripheral mounting areas for a range of surface mount devices including 0805, 1206, Mini-Melf, a-b case tantalums, and many others. Foil areas accept parts both in the signal lines to the I.C., as well as across adjoining foil areas.

Type 9163
The model 9163 provides a direct connection from each IC terminal to Single -In -Line (SIP) pins on .100 centers. The large foils may have devices mounted across line, or the foils may be modified to permit mounting of devices in line.

Type 9165
The 9165 provides a large peripheral breadboarding area capable of accepting a range of devices as well as a footprint in each signal line that can mount a 0805, 1206, Mini-Melf and other size devices. Large foil areas afford ample space for creating additional mounting zones if desired.
