RC SERVOs

The "Servo" is a device which has been in use in the model radio control sector for decades.

They are plug-in position feedback rotary actuators to which a target angular position is sent (from a RC receiver or a PC/Microcontroller Interface board) to which the output rotor will move and stop.

In recent years both larger and smaller servos have been developed (Mega, Micro & Feather) many of which are ideal for robotics applications

The Signal sent to a servo is of the Pulse Width modulation type -similar to that used to control the power applied to an electric motor
